INVESTING IN COMMUNITY
WE INVEST IN COMMUNITY INITIATIVES AND PARTNERSHIPS THAT ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF LIFE IN THE COMMUNITIES WE SERVE.
UFA was created by farmers, for farmers and built on the principle that we accomplish more when we work together. The same holds true today. Our decisions reflect the goals and values of our membership. Guided by our three focus areas - Educate, Engage and Enrich – this is exemplified in all of the community initiatives and partnerships that we are a part of.
EDUCATE
Educate about the past and support learning for the future.
As one of the oldest co-operatives in the country our roots run deep. As such, we believe we have a responsibility to share our knowledge of the past and to provide learning opportunities that will support the future. That's why we invest in youth programs focused on building future leaders as well as programs that promote agriculture awareness, rural safety and community wellness. It's about holistic support for past, present and future generations.
ENGAGE
Communities shaped by the relationships we build and nurture.
Our engagement in the communities we serve is shaped by the relationships we build and nurture. We believe in being a good neighbour by caring about, and understanding what is locally important. Our team believes in being authentic and active in our communities. We support events that provide opportunities for the community to come together to weave the fabric we call community.
ENRICH
Helping communities to stay strong and thrive.
At UFA, we understand that strong communities are built by strong people. We work hard to support communities by standing shoulder to shoulder with our members and community builders. We support programs and services that create lasting and meaningful impacts in the communities we serve. As a Co-operative, this is part of our purpose; to ensure communities stay strong and thrive well into the future.
