Applications for the 2023 Canada-Alberta Drought Livestock Assistance initiative close at midnight on Monday, January 15, 2024. The provincial and federal governments are providing $165 million in relief to support livestock producers impacted by drought and the extreme growing conditions faced this year. Benefits are to be calculated based on a “feed-need calculation for feed incurred resulting from lost grazing days for eligible breeding animals on hand as of December 31, 2023.” read more...
