UFA Named One of Alberta’s Top Employers

UFA has been recognized as one of Alberta's Top Employers for the 11th year in a row, appearing on the list since 2013. This designation is especially meaningful because coming out of the pandemic presented a lot of uncertainty and movement in the job market. People took the time to really examine if they were happy in their current roles, and many made career changes.

"I am so proud of what UFA accomplished last year, and it comes down to the great people we have working for us," says Scott Bolton, UFA President and CEO. "We compete for top talent within Alberta and nationally and we have to offer an appealing job package to retain a strong team – a resilient team responsible for a terrific 2022!"

A number of reasons for selection were highlighted as determining factors in UFA making this prominent list that included points from our solid benefits plan and community investment efforts where we supported approximately 400 Alberta-based organizations last year.

The complete list was published today in a special was published today in a special Alberta's Top Employers 2023 magazinein both the Calgary Herald and Edmonton Journal. You can check out all the details, including UFA's Top Employer feature article on Pages 62 and 63.

Selection process

The Alberta's Top Employer competition is organized by the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers. The special designation recognizes the Alberta employers that lead the way in offering exceptional places to work. A record number of entries were received this year, making this even more of an accomplishment.

The same eight criteria are used for the provincial designation as the national competition (see below). Employers are compared to other organizations in their field to determine which offers the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.

  1. Physical Workplace
  2. Work Atmosphere & Social
  3. Health, Financial & Family Benefits
  4. Vacation & Time Off
  5. Employee Communications
  6. Performance Management
  7. Training & Skills Development
  8. Community Involvement
