The updated HBC post base is a post-installed saddle for connecting posts to wood in applications such as patio covers, deck trellises and pergolas. It offers the same features as the redesigned RCPS, but in a half-base design. Drainage outlets help reduce the possibility of water accumulation that can potentially rot the post. Not reco mmended for non-top supported installations, such as fences or unbraced carports. Meets the intent of 9.23.6.2.1 of the National Building Code of Canada 2015 for resisting uplift and lateral movement.
